pedestrian car accident
COSTA MESA, CaliforniaAn unidnetified pedestrian was seriously injured in an accident with a motor vehicle late Wednesday night.
On July 13, 2011, at approximately 9:39 p.m., Costa Mesa Police officers responded to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian at the intersection of Adams Ave and Pinecreek Drive. The unidentified pedestrian was apparently crossing on foot southbound across Adams Ave outside the crosswalk against a red light. The 2006 dark blue Toyota Scion TC (two door), driven by Young, was travelling eastbound on Adams Ave through a green light at Pinecreek.
Youngs Scion struck the unidentified woman head-on within the intersection before she was able to walk to the south side of Adams Ave. The unidientified woman, estimated by police to be in her twenties, was transported to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana with head trauma and internal injuries. She is listed in stable but critical condition and is being kept at the hospital for continued monitoring.
a Young did not show signs of impairment. After being questioned, she was released at the scene.
