COSTA MESA, California—Dr. Steve Beazley, President and CEO of the Orange County Fairgrounds, announced further progress on saving the fair during his weekly @the fair show here on KOCI.

“Jerry Brown, not to be upstaged by Bob Dylan, decided that he would make an announcement on Friday that the fair sale was off, and that was like three hours before Dylan went on stage, so I don’t know what kind of thing was going on between those two, but obviously Jerry Brown won on that one because as great as the Dylan show was, what Jerry Brown did on Friday was call of the sale and really restore a certain amount of certainty to the fair, but you know with all due respect to Governor Brown it was kind of lost in the message of the celebration of the opening, so we’re all very happy, but you know what, with the fair going on it just seems like it’s rolling on no matter what like a big tsunami wave, so thank you to Jerry Brown, thank you to Bob Dylan, and off we go, right?”

Dr. Beazley’s weekly @thefair is on KOCI-FM Sunday from seven to eight p.m. through the fair.
